If you cannot be actively involved, you might like to show your support by becoming a member anyway. Membership is $10 per household per annum. This entitles you to insurance cover should you injure yourself during a Landcare working bee; quarterly editions of 'Victorian Landcare Magazine', and special member prices for Landcare functions. CWA Birregurra Branch was established in 1931 and then re-established in 2012. The group participates in a diverse range of activities that includes community driven events as well as State CWA initiatives. New members are welcome.

Since then it has been involved with many programs and activities to help and support the Birregurra community. Most of its activities rely on forming a close relationship with the Colac Otway Shire and other instrumentalities. New members for the group, its committees and other volunteer groups around town are most welcome.

We meet twice a month - the second Tuesday of the month is a dinner meeting usually at the Royal Mail Hotel and the fourth Tuesday of the month is a business meeting at the Community Health centre @ 7.30pm. Activities and fund raising events include:
-Waste paper collection
-Supplying fire wood to those in need
-BBQ at the Birregurra Festival and art show and other functions as requested
-Support both by kind and financial aid to those in need
-Maintenance of the Birregurra Park and Park Lane

More informationThe Upper Barwon Landcare Network [UBLN] is made up of nine Landcare, Farmcare and River care groups in the mid and upper Barwon River catchments upstream of Inverleigh to the northern foothills of the Otway Ranges in South West Victoria. Comprising of over 153,000 hectares, the area includes parts of the Surf Coast and Colac Otway Shires. There is a wide range of topography, soil types and vegetation with a diversity of rural activities and lifestyles. Enterprises include dairying, beef & sheep grazing, broad acre cropping, intensive pig & poultry farming, as well as potato and pasture seed production. Agroforestry is well integrated on many properties providing biological infrastructure for resilience and sustainability. There is also some large scale commercial forestry.
