The Birregurra Weekend
Festival and Art Show is celebrating its 10th year in 2009 with
the most exciting festival program yet.
This year will see a huge food and wine marquee set up in the
main street giving visitors the chance to sample all sorts of
wonderful local produce including free range beef, lamb and
pork, sour dough bread, olives and olive oil, wine and beer,
cheese, locally grown truffles, game meats and a fantastic
chocolatier. There will be cooking demonstrations by celebrity
chefs and lots of giveaways.
For the first time this year the event will also feature an
agricultural precinct with the latest in farming technology and
products on display plus the world-famous Guinness World Record
pig racing, wood chop competition and the popular dog high jump
contest.

A children's section
will be located in the park this year with a petting zoo, ice
cream, jumping castles and face painters to keep the little ones
entertained.
On the main stage we have the best of local music from the Otway
region including rock, folk, reggae, and ethnic bands plus some
roving buskers on the street of Birregurra to keep you
entertained.
And don't forget the renowned Art Show in the town hall
displaying brilliant artworks from artists across the district
and beyond which kicks off on Friday, October 9, at 7.30pm.
The festival runs on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday October
11, 2009 from 10am-5pm both days. Entry is free however a gold
coin donation gets you a showbag and an entry into the raffle to
take home one of our wonderful prizes. |
